Practice with Us!
Join CPB every Thursday evening at the First Unitarian Church of St. Louis for meditation practice, Dharma Talk and group discussion. Tea and good company, as always, are provided!
CPB meets at:
First Unitarian Church of St. Louis, 5007 Waterman Blvd (just off Kingshighway past Barnes-Jewish Hospital) from 7-9 pm on Thursdays.
At CPB, we maintain a commitment to Buddhism's relevance to Western cultural considerations, and within this context we also emphasize the increasing relevance of a dedication to pluralism and human connectedness. This dedication is expressed in four (4) basic principles in Towards a Global Ethic: An Initial Declaration, drafted by Dr. Hans Kung in cooperation with the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions:
- Commitment to a culture of non-violence and respect for life.
- Commitment to a culture of solidarity and a just economic order.
- Commitment to a culture of tolerance and a life of truthfulness.
- Commitment to a culture of equal rights and partnership between men and women.
